Common hair/scalp problems and natural remedies
Dryness and frizziness
Caused by a lack of hydration and nutrients in the hair and scalp. Jojoba oil, castor oil, and coconut oil can help hydrate the scalp and provide moisture to dry, itchy skin.
Dandruff & Itchy Scalp
is created by an overgrowth of yeast on the scalp, leading to flaking and itching. Tea tree oil and peppermint oil have antifungal and anti-inflammatory properties that can help treat dandruff and soothe an itchy scalp.
Hair thinning and loss
Resulting from a combination of factors, including genetics, hormonal fluctuations, and subpar hair care practices. Castor oil, rosemary oil, and argan oil contain essential fatty acids and vitamins that can help strengthen hair and encourage growth.
Greasy or oily scalp:
Caused by overactive sebaceous glands that produce excess sebum, leading to a greasy or oily scalp. Lemon oil and tea tree oil have astringent properties that can help regulate oil production and reduce the appearance of an oily scalp. These oils are light and non-greasy, making them suitable for those with an oily scalp. Massaging a few drops of lemon or tea tree oil into the scalp can help to reduce excess oil and leave the scalp feeling refreshed and balanced.
Split Ends
Caused by damage to the hair shaft, leading to frayed and split ends. Jojoba oil, almond oil, and olive oil can help nourish and repair split ends, preventing further damage.
Seborrheic dermatitis
Tea tree oil, lavender oil, and rosemary oil have antifungal and anti-inflammatory properties that can help to soothe an itchy and irritated scalp caused by seborrheic dermatitis. Massaging these oils into the scalp can help to reduce inflammation and promote healing, making them ideal for those who suffer from this condition.
